Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Police Officer Bret Nathan Sunner

Twenty years ago this date
Officer Bret Nathan Sunner
lost his life in the never
ending pursuit of justice.
Officer Sunner's heroic actions
on that day is another example
of the violence
law enforcement officers face
each and every day. All of
our shifts today are dedicated
to the memory of this hero.
We extend our deepest thoughts
and prayers to his family,
friends and fellow law
enforcement officers hoping
that in the knowledge that he will never be forgotten by us will
bring some peace to those who
knew and loved him.

I was 16 years old when you were taken from the streets. I still remember the night you were taken. I was a cadet on the Linn County Sheriffs department at the time. It is sad to see that there are no reflections for you. I will tell you this the officers that I knew were taken back by the loss of your life. Take care of the rest of the men and women putting there life on the line every day.

Rest in Peace Officer Sunner. its been 19 yrs since your tragic death. I didn't know you but I recently came across your name on another website. I was a young child at the time of your death. I hope that you are watching over everyone sown here on earth. I wish your family, friends, and agency comfort at this time. May they remember those that are still patrolling the streets of all of our communities and remember the way you were here.

God Bless and Rest in Peace!!
