Reflections for K9 Thor

I am just now seeing this as of January 2021, but my father was the handler of K9 Thor. Thor’s passing broke the heart of our whole family and most of Vicksburg. The city saw him as a hero and we saw him as family. To see how many people honor Thor and all the amazing things people have said about him really brings a tear to my eye. Thor was my best friend and a true member of the Heggins family. We will forever love and miss him. Thank all of you for helping us keep the memory of Thor alive.

Thank you for your service Thor you must have been awesome!
The officer that left you locked up in the hot car should have to wear a bracelet with your photo on it for the rest of his life.

Proving my case i hope somebody catches on. K9 Thor thank you for your Dedicated Service to your Community and to your Depatment. Any and all deaths are terrible but when it could have been avoided it makes it that much worse remember nothing man made is ever guaranteed to not FAIL . No person or animal deserves to pass this way.I wish that all K9 Officers were made to check on their K9 partners at least every half hour if they are going to be away from their vehicles for any length of time. To many of our 4 legged Officers are dying because of this malfuntion. May God grant your Partner & family and all involved with a speedy healing.

K-9 Thor, the number seven is the number of completeness and perfection. You completed your seven years of service perfectly and God saw that your loyalty, dedication and drive surpassed all that was asked of you. Now that you have been called home to Heaven, a special star reserved for you shines continuously, one that can be seen by all in the night sky. God will mend your partner's heart and give strength, rest and peace knowing that you two will someday meet again. Thank you.

Thor may be gone from this earthly existence,

But he will never be forgotten

By those who knew and loved him,

He will remain forever in their hearts and memories,

For he touched many lives

In his own special way,

A noble, brave, gallant partner and friend

Who will truly be missed.

A Prayer for K9 Thor:

Heavenly Father, the Vicksburg, Mississippi Police Department was fortunate to receive the gift of K9 Thor from You. Let us celebrate his accomplishments and remember his years of service as a Certified Law Enforcement Canine. K9 Thor died in the Line-of-Duty on Tuesday, September 3, 2019. Now that K9 Thor has left this life, please help the members of the Vicksburg Police Department; his handler, and; his family cope with his loss with strength and courage. May K9 Thor always be remembered as a trusted colleague who completed his missions with true dedication. Lord God, by Your Word, death is not the end; it does not have the final say! For Scripture promises that all flesh shall see the salvation of God! All dogs do go to heaven, because they have a spirit that epitomizes Your unconditional love. After all, DOG spelt backwards is GOD! Well done, good and faithful servant! Amen.
