You are not forgotten today on this mournful anniversary, nor will you ever be. Thank you for your service to our community.

You shall live in the hearts of those who loved you, those who admired you, and those you helped in their times of need; thus you will never be forgotten.

Most respectfully Deputy Chief Murphy, although I never knew you, I dedicate this day to your memory.

Each year as we go to their place of rest to honor family members, my sister and I speak of the man our great grand father must have been. He definitely lived on through his son and his grandson, my father, who were two of the finest men one could ever meet.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 102nd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

I never knew my great-grandfather since he was killed in the line of duty many, many years ago. I, sometimes, reflect on what he may have been like and how he would have enjoyed his wonderful family (in particular, my grandfather George Murphy, Sr.). I continue to honor his service and his spirit in our family history
