Reflections for Patrolman Jerry E. Murphy

Rest in Peace, Patrolman Murphy. Your sacrifice is not forgotten.

Officer 11169

April 27, 2012

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 82 anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never dimishes respect, not even 82 years.

Rest In Peace

Jerry was my grandmother's brother and I heard the details of his death many times. He was killed not far from her home and she had word of his demise within minutes. Her husband, my grandfather who was also a Chicago policeman, died 5 years earlier in a bomb blast that took off the whole front of their brick 2 flat on the west side and left her with 3 kids to raise alone.
