Your heroism and service is honored today, the 84th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

For fellow historians: There were many rumors regarding the whereabouts of Officer Mizner's murderer. Some say he fled to Ireland while others said Mexico.

In a sick sorta way, Officer Mizner will be remembered because back in 1977, in Chicago, the gallows were finally dismantled. Here in Orange County, California the Ripley's Museum has closed. Shortly after its closure, the parent company in San Francisco bought the gallows for $63,000 at an auction....May He Rest - In - Peace.
