Reflections for Police Officer Emilio Fidel Miyares

Hi Tere, It's Ely. I came across this page as I was on the internet and it gave me chills to see how dedicated and devoted you have remained to your husband. Every year after my birthday Nov 5 I remember you and your family. Your family will always remain in my thoughts and prayers. I visited Emilio at the cementary some time ago, It was after Emidio had passed away. Sorry I haven't been by in a while, it's amazing how much time has gone by. I heard from Gracie that your a grandma 3 times. Congratulations! Tell Jessica she is brave I don't know how she manages to be sane with 3 I have 1 and I'm going crazy. Children have a way of bringing lots of happiness into our lives, I see that in my daughter Nichole every day she will be 1 on Nov 18. Please give every one my love and know that I miss you all, it's a shame how close we all live from one another and we never see each other (I recently bought the house next door to my parents) so we are still in the same neighborhood. Love always, Ely

Hi Honey: Today 8/19/05 we would of celebrated our 30th yr wedding anniversary...HAPPY ANNIVERSARY in HEAVEN..Tomorrow We will be celebrating, our daughter's Jessica's baby shower, she is having her 3 baby boy. Emilio came out on COPS 2006 Calendar, I am so proud of both of them, I went to the police station on Wed. to take a calendar to Kathy, the chief and to Orlando Aguilera, he is the deputy chief now(he always remembers that you help him to learn how to ride a bike so he could become a motorman), I wanted the dept. to know what COPS does for us and what Emilio is doing now for the other kids who have lost a parent in the line of duty.

we love you and miss

Terry

He was the one there with you that afternoon when you were killed and I thank God everyday to have choosen Felix to be there with you, he is a special guy and he deserves that he has reached this wonderful time.

Love always

Policeman's 23rd Psalm

The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want,
His comforting hand reduces fear to naught;
He makes me walk through streets of crime,
But He gives me courage and peace of mind.

He leads me by still waters in the path I trod,
And He says in Romans I'm a "minister of God,"
He leads me in righteousness as He restores my soul,
For His name's sake He keeps me whole.

When I walk through death's valley, right up to the door,
I will fear no evil, for He comforts me more;
For Thou art with me every step of the way,
As thy rod and thy staff protect me each day.

He prepares a table, especially for me,
As I work daily among life's enemies;
He gives me authority to uphold the law,
And He anoints my position in the midst of it all.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me,
Each day of my life through eternity;
As I long to hear Him say, "Well done...,"
When I lay down my life, my badge, and my gun

Hi Emilio, today 3/10/05 our "baby boy" turned 26 years old, can't believe he was only 7 when you were taken away; you should see him, we are all so proud of him, he is very mature and responsible (just like you) and our daughter is the same way (a very good mommy) to her two little ones...how I wish that you were here so you can be as proud of them as I am...one of our teachers told me a few years ago (Mr. Ritchey, remember him) he was also Jessica's teacher and I went to an open house at school and he said that our kids were going to turned out ok 'cause they came from good stock"....I think so too, they take after you.

Emilio, it has been awhile since we've talked. You know you are always in my mind and heart. I know you are proud of your kids and wife...I know I am. It is amazing how long it has been, but it all seems like yesterday. The family keeps extending so I know you have a tough job looking over everybody and keeping everyone safe. We'll keep in touch. Hi Emilio: I just want to let you know that this month has been terrible for the Hialeah PD...We have lost two of your co-workers within the last 3 weeks, (even though it was not line of duty, it hurts to lose these guys) Tommy Nevins, Jr. (had a stroke and died the next day) Ed Boute (had a heart attack and died today)...it has been hard for the people in your department this month (it was your 18 year anniversary Pete's 12 year anniversary) we almost lost an officer in line of duty the 12th, Carlos Bertot's daughter died from carbon monoxide, Ed Fortune's wife died and now Tommy and Ed...please, be there for them and see if you can talk to God and tell him to give us a "tiny" break...you take care and we will too.

love your wife

Hi Honey: On Sat. 11/6, it will be 18 years that you have been gone...we still miss you as much as that horrible day(thurs. 11/6/86), as every year the kids will go to the cementary and take flowers, this year I will be with my friends from COPS at our National Board Meeting, I think that will be perfect 'cause they really know what I'll be going through as they are survivors just like me...

About our family, Emilio is doing great he is already 25 and works with the surviving kids from COPS as a mentor, Jessica is 22, our grandkids Javi is 2 years old and Jonathan is 4 months old; the other day I was in the back yard with Javi and Jonathan and Javi was looking at the sky and I asked him "what are you looking at" and he said "the police" that means he was looking at you, 'cause we tell him you are in Heaven...we love you and miss you always.
