As long as one's name is spoken, they live within all. Amazing how law enforcement remembers those lost, it is a lesson to all, it is called respect and honor.

I am not in law enforcement but I am amazed at how after so many years officers are remembered and by those who clearly were not born at the time of the slain officer's death. Amazing.

Time may have passed but you are not forgotten. I believe as long as someone remembers you or speaks your name, you are still with us.
Thank you for your heroism.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 82nd anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

Uncommon valor from an uncommon man....you are missed, rest in peace.

Judgment Day for a NYC Patrolman

.....Author Unknown

The Patrolman stood and faced his God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward now, Patrolman.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To my Church have you been true?"

The Patrolman squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord I guess I ain't,
Because those of us who carry badges
Can't always be a Saint.

I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my work was rough,
and sometimes I've been violent,
Because the streets are awfully tough.

But I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep,
I worked a lot of overtime
When the bills just got too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place
among the people here.
They never wanted me around
Except to calm their fear.

If you've a place for me here, Lord
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don't, I'll understand."

There was silence all around the Throne
Where the Saints had often trod.
As the Patrolman waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.

"Step forward now, Patrolman,
You've borne your burdens well.
Come walk a beat on Heaven's streets,
You've done your time in Hell."
