Daddy
I Love you, you are my Guardian Angel.
My heart aches for you, as I was so young and confused when this news was giving to us. I still don't understand how something like this can happen.
Today is 40 years since you have been in Heaven and watching over all of us. I LOVE YOU

Daddy...so many images come to mind
whenever I speak your name;
It seems without you in my life
things have never been the same.

What happened to those lazy days
when I was just a child;
When my life was consumed in you
in your love, and in your smile.

What happened to all those times
when I always looked to you;
No matter what happened in my life
you could make my gray skies blue.

Daddy, some days I hear your voice
and turn to see your face;
Yet in my turning...it seems
the sound has been erased.

Daddy, who will I turn to for answers
when life does not make sense;
Who will be there to hold me close
when the pieces just don't fit.

Oh, Daddy, if I could turn back time
and once more hear your voice;
I'd tell you that out of all the dads
you would still be my choice.

Please always know I love you
and no one can take your place;
Years may come and go
but your memory will never be erased.

Today, Jesus, as You are listening
in your home above;
Would you go and find my daddy
and give him all my love.

Linda Ann Medrano McCumbers
Your daughter

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 37th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace,

I am glad that you achieved one of your life's major goal in graduating from college. How bittersweet that must have been for your family...proud that you accomplished something you worked so hard for yet devastated that you never realized all the fruit of that hard work.

PETE SORRY IT TOOK ME A LONG TIME TO LEAVE A REFLECTION.IT HAS BEEN 33 YRS SINCE YOU BEEN GONE AND RESTING IN BETTER PLACE.I HAVE ALWAYS REMEMBERED YOU AND WILL NEVER FORGET YOU.I REMEMBER WHEN WE WERE CLASSMATES AT FRESNO STATE UNIVERSITY. I REMEMBER HOW TIRED YOU WERE JUST FINISHING YOUR SHIFT ON MIDNIGHTS THEN COMMING TO CLASS.I REMEMBER YOU STANDING AGAINST A WALL ON ONE THE BLDGS WITH YOUR EYES CLOSED JUST TO GET A LITTLE REST BEFORE YOUR NEXT CLASS.YOU HAD VISIONS TO MAKE YOUR FAMILY LIFE MORE COMFORTABLE ONLY TO BE TAKEN AWAY FROM US JUST A COUPLE OF WEEKS FROM GRADUATING.HOW IRONIC IS THAT. GOD HAD BETTER PLANS BY BRINGING YOU INTO HIS KINGDOM.WHILE ON THIS EARTH YOU MADE IT A SAFER PLACE FOR ALL OF US TO LIVE. YOUR FAMILY IS VERY PROUD OF YOU FOR YOUR CHOSEN PROFESSION. PETE YOU SERVED WITH HONOR AND DISTINCTION AND HEROES ARE NEVER FORGOTTEN.TILL WE MEET AGAIN MY FRIEND.

"The Badge"

He starts his shift each day
To respond to calls unknown.
He drives a marked patrol car.
A police officer he is known.

He's paid by the citizens' taxes
To make it safe on the streets.
But he usually has a second job
'Cause a waitress has his salary beat.

Now he doesn't know a holiday
'Cause he works all year round.
And when Thanksgiving and Christmas finally arrive
At his home he cannot be found.

He's cursed and assaulted often,
The one whos blood runs blue.
He seldom ever gets a thanks,
To some he's just a fool.

His friends are always other cops
'Cause people just don't understand
That underneath his badge and gun,
He's just another man.

He knows there might not be a tomorrow
In this world of drugs and crime.
And he gets so mad at the court system
'Cause the crooks don't get any time.

And each day when he leaves for work,
He prays to God above.
Please bring me home after my shift
So I can see the ones I love.

But tonight he stops a speeding car,
He's alone down this ole' highway.
It's just a little traffic infraction.
He does it everyday.

Well, he walks up to the driver's window,
And his badge is shining bright.
He asked the guy for a driver's license,
When a shot rang through the night.

Yes, the bullet hit its mark,
Striking the officer in the chest.
But the Department's budget didn't buy
Each officer a bullet-proof vest.

So he lay on the ground bleeding.
His blood wasn't blue - His blood was red.
And briefly he thought of his loved ones
'Cause in a moment the officer was dead.

In the news they told the story
Of how this officer had died.
And some who listened cared less,
But those who loved him cried.

Well, they buried him in uniform
With his badge pinned on his chest.
He even had his revolver,
He died doing his best.
