Reflections for Trooper Deborah M. McMenamin

My husband and I were traveling on the intestate this afternoon when we passed the cross put up in your memory from 34 years ago. Your end of watch may have ended here but the love we have for you shall live on forever in our hearts through those that remember all your accomplishments in your life. A simple emoji of sadness & 34 years was a reminder that we lost you, but Collette's reply of an angel emoji gave me peace of mind that our love for our sister is eternal. Always in our hearts & mind.

Always remembered & always in our hearts! It's been thirty-three years and there are days that are in our memories that we think of you, the day you were born, the moments in time that made us laugh, the special dates we shared over the years & the day you were called back to heaven. We remember & have kept your memory alive in our hearts! Tears of love fill my eyes for the sister I'm so thankful to have had in my life!

There are certain days in the year that I remember, some with laughter. some with love and some with tears. Even 32 years later the laughter, love and tears of the memories of my beloved sister have never diminished. I treasured each memory of growing up and having you in my life, not only as my sister but as my confidant and friend. Always in my heart.

Another year has past...hard to believe it's been 28 years, sis, since you're "end of watch", but I don't believe your watch is over. You keep watch over those you love because of the angel you were here & now in heaven. We lost you on this date but the love we have for you has lived on in our hearts. I love you Debbie & miss you so very much and every tear I've shed over the years for you has filled an ocean of love. I pray for those families who have lost a love one to find peace in your hearts from there sacrifice.

Thank you to all who remembered my sister "Debbie" & for your reflections. Twenty seven years today was a difficult day to get through the loss of a cherished friend & sister. The 26th of October took you from us & everyday you're thought of and remembered for the wonderful woman you were. You were taken from us so very young, but the memories you left with me I have treasured every moment since. I Love you Sis & miss you!

Each trip to my summer home in Birchwood I pass the cross placed in your memory. I've often wondered about your sacrifice. Today I saw an article in PC News a badge collectors paper which pictured your service weapon. It is with the deepest gratitude, that I say thank you for your service and the sacrifice you made. God bless your family and brothers and sisters of the Wisconsin Highway Patrol. May you continue to look down upon them.

I hope the moron, idiot that killed this trooper suffers every single day, but most especially this day - every year. Nothing they can do will make up for killing this trooper. Shame on them, shame, every day....

Twenty five years ago feels like a blink of an eye at the loss of Debbie, my sister and my friend. The loving memories I have treasured through the years have given me peace in my heart, but time has not healed missing your laughter, your smile, your voice & your sense of humer that gave Collette and I many memories to share over the years. For all who have lost a family member or a treasured friend, my prayers are with you to find peace of heart & the love to remember the memories they have given you...like a bag of M&M peanuts!
