Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Lieutenant Danny P. Elkins

Lt., I thought of you today. I was driving down 4th Avenue. I don't know what it was but I had a feeling you were watching me. I remember all the training you gave me and all the things you told me to be careful of while on duty. I will never forget the lessons I learned that you taught me and many others. Thank you for caring. You are not forgotten.

LT...
I remember the first day I walked into your office to sign up for the VIP program back in 1991. Each time I spoke to you, you always gave me some little piece of advice or wisdom about police work that always has stuck with me. Throughout the years since then, I have remembered those little things, and applied them to keep myself, and fellow officers safer when on the streets. I hope you know how much I appreciated it.

Rest in peace....

Lieutenant, it has been a little over ten years since you taught my firearms training in the academy. I know you are looking down on all of us here, waiting for us to join you someday. As you look down, I hope that you will see the lessons you taught me are still with me today. Thank you. God Bless you and your family.
