Reflections for Patrolman Herbert D. "Burt" Long

May your memory live on, sir. The bravery of a Peace Officer is seldom recognized. You did the job, not for recognition, but to be one of God's children. For that, your soul will always be at peace. God bless you and your family that absolutely suffer without you.

Correctional Officer Joel Tyning 24228

You died 25 years before I was born, and my Father was only a baby at that time.

You are honored in our homes, your picture and story proudly displayed on our walls.

I learned some things about you from Aunt Edna, when she was alive, and some things about Patrick and Richard.

Know you're remembered, Grandpa,

Joffrey G. Long
Grandson of Herbert D. Long, and
Son of Ralph G. Long (who was the son
of Herbert D. Long)
