Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Detective Lonnie C. Miller, Sr.

Detective Miller, I did not know you but I sure do remember the day that some lost soul decided to take your life. I attended your funeral and it was obvious the impact you had in this community. I, like the rest of this city, sure do hope your killer gets his just reward when he has to answer to god one day. I honor your memory this day, thank you for your service.

Detective Miller,

I wanted to write you and let you know that your story is still being told by your friends in places as far away as Pensacola, FL, almost 10 years after you left us.

I wanted you to know that your friends speak of you with remembrance, respect and love. I listened to stories today about you and hearing about you and your adventures brought smiles to the listeners and laughter to your friends.

A man's strength of character and depth of spirit can be most accuratley measured by how he is remembered by those who knew him best and I wanted you to know that it's obvious to me that you are a man of both honor and courage.

Know that I thank you for your sacrifice, I am honored by your service and even though I never had the chance to meet you personally, I am proud to call you my brother.

On the Final Day when we stand the Line before the Man and await His judgement, I hope it's my privlege to stand shoulder to shoulder with you and the rest of our Brother and Sister officers.

Godspeed, sir.
