Reflections for Game Warden John Linklater

I had the privilege of riding in a motorcycle ride that was for fallen officers. I pulled your name. I wonder so many things about you and your life as a game warden. I want to thank you for your service and hope your descendants have been blessed and are living lives worthy of your sacrifice.

Thank you ~

Time may have passed but you are not forgotten. I believe as long as someone remembers you or speaks your name, you are still with us.
Thank you for your heroism.

Patrolling Basswood Lake fifty years following your service was an honor and cannot compare with the challenges you faced everyday. I am further honored to better understand your life and career as a Game Warden for the DNR through amazing stories told by members of your family 80 years after your sacrifice. Your legacy in the border country of Minnesota/Ontario lives on.... may you RIP.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 80th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace

mom of fallen Pittsburg (CA) Officer Larry Lasater
