Reflections for Patrolman Raymond L'Hommedieu

"Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God."

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 71rst anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

I said a little prayer today for Patrolman L'Hommedieu and his family. He may be gone but never forgotten. He will always be a New York HERO.

I wish that more Officers would be remembered. Sometimes I think that we are afraid to face our own mortality and shy away from what could be our own fate. I as you travel the same road 63 years later. You gave your life in the same place that I work everyday . Watch over myself and my brothers in blue. May you rest in peace.
