Tim, I didn’t know very, but you reputation as a solid officer preceded you. I too mourned your passing and I want you as your family to know that your life and sacrifice meant something.

Tim I need to apologize. I remember leaving work and letting you know that a car was stolen from Skyline high school, a white over red mustang. I went to work the next day and learned the awful news that you had been killed. The suspect was driving a white over red mustang. I will never know if you stopped that car for that reason. You always were a 10851 nut. I want everyone to know that you were a wonderful person. You were kind, caring , and a loving human being. I miss you and remember you. Your family should be proud

Tim we were talking at 14th Avenue and E18 about KY and where we were from. I got a call and I have always wished I would have talked you into being my cover. You said you were going to go hunt stolen cars. While on the call we heard it come over the radio from the off duty SF Officer that you had been hit. You have always been missed since you had to leave us.

To Officer Timothy Howe and all his loved ones:

My name is Keith Langskov and I will never forget my November 25, 1994, I turned 8 years old. Officer Howe let me sit in the front seat of his patrol car on my birthday. He let me turn on the sirens and took me around the block. He even bought me some snacks at the 7/11 on MacArthur Blvd. I will never forget what he told me that night. He said " Keith, I never want to see you in the back of a patrol car." He asked me what I wanted to be when I get older of course I told him I wanted to be a police man.

I will never forget him. He was my protector.

I will never forget seeing his picture in the Oakland Tribune and my mother explaining what happened. I was so sad.

I am 29 years old now hard to believe 21 years ago Officer Timothy B. Howe gave me a birthday I would never forget.

I spent 10 years in the Marine Corps and start my own security company. I think about Officer Howe all the time.

On the 14th anniversary of Officer Howe's death, we honored his service in our patrol briefing by reading his entry from ODMP. Each day, we honor one fallen officer on the anniversary of their death so as to keep them in our thoughts, and also to remind us of the dangers inherent in our job. Officer Howe is not forgotten.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 15th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer. You both are buried at Oakmont, and I so appreciate that your family and agency visit my son's grave when they visit yours.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.

I was once asked by a citizen at a funeral for an Officer lost in The Line of Duty, "Did you know the Officer?" I replied that I did not know the Officer personally, but I like to think I know someone just like him. A big, burly, teddy bear of a guy just like Tim. Someone who leads by example and not by force of will. Via Con Dios Tim, Go With God.
