Reflections for Trooper James Mattaliano

To the Mattaliano family:

On this the eleventh anniversary of the tragic death of Trooper Mattaliano, I wanted to honor his memory. Rest in Peace, Trooper Mattaliano.

I am thinking about all of you today and saying special prayers for your family. I am lighting a
two blue candles today for Jim and Trooper Perry. Their memory is revered today.

This reflection is sent with the utmost respect for the distinquished service Trooper Mattaliano gave to his community and the citizens of Massachusetts, and the supreme sacrifice he and his family made on February 22, 1995.

I now live in Sanford FL but lived in Boston when we lost these two brave men. I still have the T-shirt dedicated to them and wear it to remind people how fragile life is and how these men put their lives on the line for us every day. In Florida we have people that do foolish things that jeapordize our safety personnel such as going out in hurricanes and windsurfing during them. If not for the people's own safety they should care that the men that try to save them might lose their own lives for the stupidity of others.

Although this has been awhile I wanted to write and remind people to never forget just as we will never forget 9-11. I lost my Dad a Firefighter and as your website states, it is not the agency but the whole nation that suffers a loss. God bless the families, friends and of course co-workers of Trooper Mattaliano and Perry. I am married to a Pilot who flies fixed and rotor so I am reminded each time he flies that I should never let him leave home without a kiss and I love you. Let people know you appreciate them while you are lucky enough to be able to.
