Officer Krasenes,
On today, the 50th anniversary of your death I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of the state California. And to your Family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy. There is no tougher job in Law Enforcement than that of a Corrections Officer.

I came to see your name, today, Daddy. Today is the 50th anniversary of that awful day. The memorial was locked up due to the riots last year. I was sad that I couldn't get inside, and find your name, but I hope to be able to in the future. I had a good day remembering you. I played all the songs you would play back then. The Giants won today! I really miss you.

Whatever justice your assailants faced here it will hopefully be a fraction of the justice they will receive at a later time in a different place. Rest in peace always knowing that your service and sacrifice will never, ever be forgotten by your law enforcement brethren.

On the 39th anniversary of Officer Krasenes' death, we honored his service in our patrol briefing by reading his entry from ODMP. Each day, we honor one fallen officer on the anniversary of their death so as to keep them in our thoughts, and also to remind us of the dangers inherent in our job. Officer Krasenes is not forgotten.

This was one of the saddest cases in CDCR history. Even more sad is the fact the lawyer responsible for this tradgedy walked due to LOE. Rest in peace, gentleman. You are the blameless victims of evil men.
