While for the past twenty years the town of Holden has been under the police jurisdiction of the Holden Police Department, in 1948 it was not. Still, we consider Deputy Kimball to be one of our own, as his life was taken in 'our' town while he was on-duty here. In his honor and memory, a plaque is displayed in our Training Room. Thank you for your service, Deputy Kimball. We hope and pray another police life is never taken in Holden, Maine; nor anywhere else in our country. Unfortunately, we all know better...

I am privileged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you.
Your heroism and service is honored today, the 64th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
