Your heroism and service is honored today, the 57th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

I met Alva a few months before he was shot. Great guy and an inspiration to those who followed him. I have had the good foutune to be Volunteer, associated with the Pasco PD, that in May will be 40 years. I was the Lt. In charge of the Reserve Unit for 27 years and am now the Quartermaster. We have a great memorial in our loby for Alva. I also have copies of a magazine article written about the event.
