Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Patrolman Alfred N. Hollis

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 86th anniversary year of your death. I am privileged to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

Officer Hollis, the fate of the man responsible for your murder is a just one but it didn’t bring you back. Those who knew and loved you could never replace you and the City of Quincy suffered a tremendous loss to its fine Police Department. You truly are a hero and you have not been forgotten. On this 81st anniversary of your passing, I salute you.

God Bless and may you continue to Rest in Peace, Brother.

Dear Uncle Alfred (The Uncle I lost and never knew)

You gave the last full measure of devotion - a sacrifice which remains with us survivors today. We pray for strength to uphold your honor -- with the courage/determination to face those who would harm our families and communities.

Rest in the eternal sleep -- which awaits us - and watch over us until we meet.
