Reflections for Deputy Sheriff James Weldon Hill

I was always told stories about you and my father, Walton Dean Harkins. I have a photo of you and him together and I look at it everyday. My Aunt Carol always said you were like another brother to her. I had to look for you here, I knew I would find you.
**Thank you for your great service and ultimate sacrifice♡

Even though I never got to meet you, Your brother (my grandfather) speaks greatly of you. I admire you for your bravery, and you will never be forgotten. You are my Great-Uncle, and I am sorry for what has happened. I will never forget this story for the rest of my years! I wish I could have met you, but that was not destined to happen, sadly.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 47th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
