Reflections for Detective Sergeant James Higgins

Your assailant may have escaped capture and justice but he surely faced a much higher court and justice at a later time. No passage of time can ever erase your service, military as well as police, and sacrifice. Rest in peace always.

This man was married to my great grand aunt from Toomevara Co. Tipperary,Ireland. As tragedy struck the family again in 1915 . Thanks to our cousin John Barber who gave us the information we held a mass for the family in Gortagarry church to rememeber them. We are very pround of this man as we are also invovled in the policing profession in Ireland and the school for policing is in Templemore.

Time may have passed but you are not forgotten. I believe as long as someone remembers you or speaks your name, you are still with us.
Thank you for your heroism.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the one hundred and fourth anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.
