Reflections for Corrections Officer Lyle Herman

It is so very clear to me that the courage you displayed while here with us on earth was passed on to my husband & your son, Lyle Herman III. Nearly every day I find myself remembering the many stories of your bravery, the immensely strong character you possessed & the legacy you left. All of which live on through your children & grandchildren.
I know you protect us & guide us & will forever live on through the lives you touched.
Rest In Peace Dad

I always knew you were the one that held our family together. I will never stop missing you and could never stop loving you. You will never be forgotten by me and you will never be alone because you have always been in my heart and you will be forever. That why I kissed you on the forehead when you left us in the hospital, i didnt want you to feel alone. Miss you and love you dearly from now until the end of eternity. Love you,
Stacy

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 24th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

Decades ago I was one of the first female correctional officers to work at San Quentin. I understand how difficult your job was and I am so sorry that you lost your life in the performance of your duty.

I pray for solace for all those that love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever. Thanks to your family and friends for sharing their devotion to you through their reflections.

I am incredibly thankful and grateful to you for the father and teacher you were to my husband. Although your time here on earth was cut so tragically short, your legacy will forever live on through my husband and the father he has become to your grandson and newborn granddaughter.
