John Harlow was my great, great grandfather, My grandmother, Arlene (Clements) Bartlett relayed his history to us and even had the original jail break plans of the jail break which I was told all went to the Barton County Historical Society. I was named after this great man.

John Harlow was my Great Grandfather. He was a good and kindly man who took non-violent prisoners to church. His death has had a profound effect upon all of his descendants as well as those living in the small communities he served.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 93rd anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.
