Dear Phyllis,
You are the beautiful mother of a Hero. Your heroic son Larry is a true role model for me, my family; all families, friends, neighbors and America. He will never be forgotten and will always be loved and remembered as a National Hero. Please forgive me for not sending this note sooner. You are in my Prayers and I wish to send you all my love. Love, Judy (granddaughter of Det. Chester Arthur Hagan)

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 87th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect and your memory will always be honored and revered. Judy, thank you for sharing a grandaughter's devotion to a beloved grandfather through your reflection.

Rest In Peace

From the bottom of my heart ,as Detective Chester Hagans Granddaughter,I cannot thank you all enough. My Mother loved her father so very much and was 6 years old when he was killed in the line of duty. The next year from what I understand all the children received a turkey for the family Thanksgiving, there is a picture of my Mother with other children who's Dad's were killed, receiving the turkey and the look on her face. My mother was a child, and her mother was young and without the man they loved. My mother told me my Grandfather had a box of chocolates in his locker to give to she and her mom, as you know it was Valentines Day,when he was killed. I never met my Grandfather, but I loved him, because my Mother told me what a wonderful father and husband and person he was to everyone . Again , thank you all for your beautiful words , and for being a part of our family.God Bless

Det. Hagan,
On today, the 83rd anniversary of your murder, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of New York City. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy. It took another year, but your murderer finally got the justice that he deserved.
