99 years later, your service is still being honored. I am researching the service of these two fine officers. If anyone has any information to contribute, please contact me,

A tragic event primarily due to the loss of the lives of two Brother Officers, but the subsequent committal of the Chief as well.

Thankfully, aside from the loss of two men, the Mayor recovered, The Chief regained his sanity and the murderer never once tasted freedom again.

God Bless you Officer Gwatney and may your eternal rest be ever peaceful.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 92nd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service to the native state of myself and my cherished son Larry Lasater who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

The bullets that kill our beloved officers kill a part of everyone who cared for them as evidenced by your Chief's illness.

Rest In Peace.
