Ranger Guffey,

I was just in elementry school when you're tragety happened. I have never forgotten the sight of your funeral going by my school in McCulloch County. I used to visit your grave site often. You are a hero through and through.
Rest in peace my brother.

Truly, you were a hero for saving the life of the child. God's peace be with you. No doubt about it, the streets of heaven are even safer with you there. Watch over your brothers and sisters in blue. Thank you for your service.

Stan, it seems like only yesterday that you were sitting behind your desk with my 3 year old son Justin on your knee with your hat on his head, and you were letting him pound away on your typewriter. You were such a hero in Justin's young eyes and heart, as you were to all that had the priviledge of knowing you. The day they laid you to rest was a day that will forever be embedded in my mind. The church was standing room only, as we walked out of the church, the Air Force flew over in the Lost Man Formation and chills ran up and down my spine. I remember thinking, yes a great man has been lost to us on earth, but a great Angel has been admitted into Heaven and he will still keep watch over his family and friends. Stan, you were a great friend and it will be a great day when we meet again.

You gave your life in sacrafice for one who was just starting. There is no other way to define "hero". God bless brother and know that you are not forgotten.
