Reflections for Night Marshal Clarence Andrew Green

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 78th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace

This week my family was blessed when my aunt sent me a newly discovered letter written by my mother to her parents in Campbell on 27 March 1950. At the time, she and my dad were living in Chambersburg, PA and in this letter, she mentioned a local newspaper article that related the story of how Harry Weeks and Rodney Brown caught the fellow that killed Marshal Clarence Green at the White Eagle filling station in 1934. Just wanted you to know that though the story seems deeply buried in the past, we wish to express our heartfelt condolences to Marshal Green’s family all these many years.

I never had a chance to know my grandfather but I am very proud of him and carry the stories of his bravery down to my children and grandchildren. He will never be forgot.

The information stated that Marshall Green left 3 children but it doesn't say that at the time of his death, his wife was carrying #4, his son, Clarence Ray Green...my father. I thank you for this memorial so that they are never forgotten. I honor the grandfather I never met and thank the community for supporting and helping to raise my father who was a wonderful person and father. May God protect all that serve.

Marshal Green,
On today, the 73rd anniversary of your murder, I would like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of Campbell. It took another three years, but your murderer finally got the justice that he deserved.

No one who ever wore the badge shall beforgotten, not as long as there is another to pin on a badge and carry on.
