Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Patrolman John J. Gallagher

Ptl. Gallagher, it brings some closure and sense of justice to know your murderer never had the opportunity to leave prison. Though it doesn’t bring you back, it’s nice to know that while your family was in their own metaphorical prison all these years, he was in a real one and was never again a free man. Your efforts on behalf of the people of Boston and the Commonwealth as a whole are never to be forgotten and I was glad to read that fitting tribute was paid to your memory. Your sacrifice makes you a martyr; your life makes you a hero.
God Bless and may you continue to Rest in Peace, Brother.

Officer Gallagher, While I never knew you, I had the privilege to go through the BPD Academy with your son and he was perhaps the most outstanding officer from our class, and a great man. You left a great legacy.
