I said a little prayer today for Patrolman Furness and his family. He may be gone but never forgotten. He will always be a New York HERO.

Dear Asa,

I have attended your grave on many an occasions because my baby and parents, along with other family members are nearby.

I knew we had a kindred connection as I prayed and rubbed your headstone many times. I can picture how they honored you following an inspectors funeral on that cold December day in 1878. I feel your presence, and know you were a good man, loving father and above all a great cop.

Knowing that you are looking over my baby and family, is a comforting place, and hope all of your are safe in the arms of the lord. God Bless and...
