Reflections for Undersheriff Grover Fulkerson

I am a great grandson of Grover Fulkerson.
I’ve put in hours upon hours researching and some things that happened preceding your untimely death that I think you would like to be notated. Not long before you joined there was a murder that occurred from the community that the family lived in. Then made a bust of 300 bottles of liquor with another deputy sheriff. Not long after that you found who you were looking for when you jumped on the bootlegging roadster and got shot. Newspaper stated that Mr. Holden and Mr. Jay were not affiliated with the former bust. I think otherwise. The judge trying the two got in trouble for the very light bond of $500 that was set. Also at the time liquor/wine etc was being confiscated from places including churches. But somehow the confiscated liquor would come up “missing/stolen”. They were given a mere 4 yrs in prison in exchange for your sacrifice that still affects our family today. Your daughter Geneva never knew you and affected her greatly and so on down the line. The two men went on to kill yet another deputy in Wilbarger County Tx. and received 99 yrs. You are remembered to this day and thank you for doing what you were called to do.

Though no one reading your story knew you, we all know you. You will never be forgotten; a day, a year, a hundred years, it matters not. As long as WE live, you will be remembered.

Rest in Peace, Grover.
