Thank you for planning the memorial written in CEdar Rapids newspaper,2016 for my uncle. I was only six years old when he was shot. But. Ido remember hearing about it. I want to contribute to the memorial fund and I would like a book when they are available. Arlene Comon, P.O. box 970, Prescott. Az.,86302.

Grandpa, even though I never had the chance to meet you personally, you have always been a strong presence in my life. I can't even explain the tremendous influence you have on me. Your wife (my grandma) was such a good, strong, Christian woman, traits she instilled in her daughter (my mom). Thank you for your influence and guidance as mom was growing up. And thank you for serving so honorably. I so look forward to the time we will meet for the first time in the presence of our Lord. What a day that will be!

I never knew you personally, Grandpa, but I have always been SO proud of you! I know your daughter Shirley (my mom) always missed you and passed your legacy of courage-and doing what was right-along to us. Thank you for your sacrifice in keeping your neighbors and loved ones safe.

(From a Policeman's Prayer) "...And when we lay down our night sticks, enroll us in your Heavenly Force, where we will be as proud to guard the throne of God, as we have been to guard the city of men."

May the lord bless you and keep you. I know that you are still watching over Vinton and keeping my father safe every day. Thank you for your dedicated service Sheriff Fry.
