Reflections for Police Officer John B. French

Officer John B. French was my father, he passed when I was just two and my brother just one years old. Although we do not remember him we will forever be proud of his service.

I was going through a forum page for historic Detroit and your name had come up John. The times have changed and years gone by but people still remember you John. I just wanted to let you know that.

I am not an officer.

Time may have passed but you are not forgotten. I believe as long as someone remembers you or speaks your name, you are still with us.
Thank you for your heroism.
God Bless

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 54th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

Rest In Peace.

My father, Arthur LaVigne, served on the Detroit P.D. from 1954-1960 so he may have known you. He then went on to retire from the Flint P.D. in 1987. May God bless your family and may you rest in peace.
