Well Dee we did it. I am on the last 5 hours of my shift and career as a police officer. After 37 years who ever thought I would do this job twice. I turned into a desk jockey. You would be laughing your guts out seeing me sitting a desk. I guess that is what they do with the old mules huh? Dee we all miss you. Mom and Dad passed on. You know that though huh? Tell them hi and give the a big hug for me.

Thank you for keeping me safe during shift. I knew you were there, I could feel you.

Thanks, brother
Love, Clark

Dee I never knew you but I met your little brother Clark in DC. Knowing another brother was going thru what I was helped me every day till I retired in 2015. Us little brothers look up to big brothers, I know Clark missed you just as I miss Steve. Now I’m retired for both of us. The memory of you and Clark will be with me till I step off this mortal coil.

“ uncle “ Dee, I have so many amazing memories of you, I miss you so much. A couple weeks before you were so violently taken from us, Auntie Brenda was doing my hair and you came in from working in the yard, you made some toast but didn’t put anything on it and when I asked why you were eating dry toast you told me you were trying to drop a few pounds. The night you were taken from us is the worst. Our families will always be close and have amazing memories but you are and always will be missed. You were the best uncle ever.

Thank you Trooper Dennis Lavelle Lund, for giving me first aid and being so kind so many years ago, on I-70 in UTAH , the strange thing was when I got back to California a friend of my father knew his family and she remembered him as a boy when she lived in utah she said he was a very good kid'' Such a horrible loss to everyone, I will never forget you for your kind and caring act that day Trooper Dennis Lavelle Lund

Even though we have the same name, we are not related in the blood sense, however we are family because of the profession that we share. RIP Trooper Lund, you will never be forgotten.

Just read the article on KSL about Mr. Pearson wanting parole. I served as a LEO for 27 years, am very glad to be out. I had no idea the stress that came with the job until I retired.
I have seen the roadside marker several times and it makes my heart hurt thinking of the families involved. I started my career with Provo PD in 1992 and remember when this occurred. It made me think everytime I left my family to go to work, they may never see me again.

Clark and Family..

I knew Dennis when we were young together in Ogden. I hadn't seen him for many years, and when my mother called me in California (where I live now) back when Dennis lost his life, my first reaction was.. "Wait.. Dennis Lund was UHP? He's way too easy-going for that job!" But sure enough, he made the grade. and from what I read I wasn't the only person to feel that way. An awesome guy, and no doubt just as awesome at his work. So I was just reading through some old Utah news and came across your posts here and thought I'd throw in my piece, too, and let you and your family know that Dennis has not been forgotten by many of us who were fortunate to have known him and to have learned to be better people by his example. May peace and safety be with you and yours.

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 19th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

I pray for solace for all those that love and remember you for I know both the pain and pride are forever.

My thoughts and deepest sympathy go out to the family of Trooper Lund. This is the first time I ever looked up the officer whose life was taken by two boys I once knew. It makes me so angry to think of all the lives ruined by their sheer stupidity and cowardice. I am sorry for what they have done and want to say it makes me ashamed to be from the same town. I want to thank Dennis Lund for his service and ulimate sacrifice...who knows how many more innocent people could have been hurt by them if not for this brave and dedicated man.

I just wanted to write to say that my husband and I were traveling through Utah and saw the cross with your name on it.
I just looked up how you died. What a tragedy. I lost my cousin who was a Law Enforcement Officer. He was severly beaten and shot with his own gun, I know the pain that your family is feeling.
I look up to all police officers would love to be one myself to protect and serve as so many do.
Thank you so much for all that you did and for what all police officers do today to keep us safe. they truly do not get enough credit.
I love you even though I never knew you.
