I recently spoke with Lt. Fraley's niece who said she still grieves for her wonderful, strong and loving uncle and that he is still her Hero!
As I was looking up Lt. Fraley's picture at work a fellow officer recognized his name and said his dad, another CPD Lieutenant, thought very highly of Fraley and said he was VERY well liked throughout the department. Lt. Fraley was killed 55 years ago and this officer, who never met him, remembered that his dad thought so highly of him.

yes my uncle al was a great cop and a great uncle as he was my mothers twin brother, i was 19 when he was shot and killed and i lived in chillicothe ohio as al used to live there at one time along with the rest of the fraley girls as he was the only boy and had four sisters, them like him are all passed on but like his memory we remember them also. he was a great uncle and we fished together at times when i was young and road thru columbus with him at times and he was sure fast. they say i look just like him but then i am almost 70 now . so no way to tell anymore. i miss him as he was my role model. i wanted to be a cop and took the test for highway patrol at hartman farms in 1966 and passed that but being married at that time my wife would not move around the state. sure hate that i just not have went and did it anyway. i apprecailte all those who serve weather in the military ar the police as i am a veteran of the army. thank you all for your service

I was approximately 6 years old when my Uncle Al was killed. I remember traveling from Michigan to Ohio spending summers at his residence with my family and his. I have great memories of my Uncle Al and he was the reason why I became a Police officer in Arlington Texas. I spend 30 years as a Police Officer & Detective in Texas. I will never forget the great times we had, even though they were short.

Dear Lt.Fraley,
Although I was only 7 years old, I remember the tragic news of your death...and the manhunt for the bottom feeder who took your life. It was all my parents and grandpartents seemed to talk about for many days. I could sense that many people in this city, many of them strangers to you, grieved over your very tragic death.
I salute your courage, and deeply honor your sacrifice.
Sleep well my brother.
