Your heroism and service is honored today, the 24th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service to my home state and the birthplace of my son. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. I pray for the solace of all those who love and miss you for I know both the pain and pride are forever.

Rest In Peace.

It is not how he lived his life that made him a hero, it is how he died. Deputy Floyd will never be forgotten. He is one of our fallen heroes.

Lofton Iry Floyd was my grandfather who was taken from us when I was three months old. I never knew him in life, but thanks to my grandmother (his wife) and my mother and aunt, I feel like I knew him. Pop, as he was known to one and all, was a valued member of the Sheriff's Department and was taken far too soon. It's hard to believe that I'm older now than he was when he died. His name lives on, as my brother has his name, and so does my son. We miss you, Granddad.
