Garland is my biological grandfather.

It is a tragic thing when someone is killed in the line of duty as he was. It can, and does, affects generations.

My mother, his daughter, was not yet 3 when he was killed. She never had the chance to know him.

I can not imagine how it affected the lives of his wife and their two daughters. It is 71-years later and my heart still goes out to them.

You have been missed.

Agent Fields was a distant cousin. Found out about him doing my ancestry research. I am very proud of him and his service to Georgia. Rest in peace cousin. I am even more proud to be a Fields.

Garland was my grand father that I never had the honor of meeting. I've heard so much about him from my mom Jane. She always talked about her love for her dad and how she missed and loved him each day. He lives within me and I'm proud to be a part of him. I'm honored.

My grandfather was an outstanding man inside and out. He was a giving man that was loved by many. Although I never got to meet him I feel him in my soul. I am a part of him and proud to be. I am an investigator but not in nature as my grandfather was. My mother Jane talked about her father all the time and missed him every day.
