To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 93nd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

In Remembrance of Officer Joe Erber who gave his life so many years ago in protection of others as his duty required. Those of us who followed in your footsteps learned from experiences such as yours and were made better officers by your teachings. May your rest never be distrubed, and the peace you did not know in this life be yours eternally.

Joe, you have been gone a long time but I want to thank you for your sacrifice and your long years of service. Those were hard years for policeman. Thank you for holding the "Thin Blue Line" before most who read this were born. (7-15-03)
