Leave a Reflection

Reflections for Patrol Officer Terry Lynn Lewis

Today I was reading the "Today in History" portion of the ODMP and saw that it was 13 years ago today that Officer Lewis gave his life in the line of duty. I didn't know Officers Lewis and Crocker but it makes no difference. We shared the badge. I recall the day the news hit at our station regarding the loss of these two officers. What a tragedy this was.
It is my prayer that the family, friends and co-workers of these two officers continue to experience God's eternal love and endless blessings.
May God keep safe from harm the men and women of the Arlington Police Department.

Officer Lewis,
I would like to say thank you to you and your partner for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of Arlington. I really don't 5 years was enough of a sentence for a drunk driver who killed two police officers.

Each day I try to read the ODMP. Today I read your story. Any officer who dies in the line of duty will always be remembered for his sacrifice. You died a hero. Rest in peace Officer Lewis.

I met your family in Washington DC for National Police Week back in 1995. I've visited them in Texas, and Anne has come to see me in Jersey. Just wanted to say what a warm and loving family you have. And they always think about you and will remember you always. I met them due to unforunate circumstances, of course, considering my father also was killed in the line of duty, but they have made a huge impact on my life, and I will never forget them. It comforts me to know that my father is probably with you in heaven, both of you smiling down on all of us to see how much people can come together. God Bless.

And He will raise you up on eagles wings
Bear you on the breath of dawn
Make you to shine like the sun
And hold you in the palm of His hand
