To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 76th anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

RIP Officer Day...

Officer Day was my grandfather - one I never got the chance to know, one who never held a grandchild, one who did not get the opportunity to see and know that his sons grow to be adults. My Dad had not reached his 14th birthday when the sad news came. My Grandmother, strong, forthright and Godly deserves the Crown of Glory that she surely wears today because she didn't fail in raising my Dad and my uncles. Grandpa, I am proud that you fought to keep us safe - and you surely know by now, that Grandma carried on the faith, and your prayer that your family circle will not be broken in heaven is a reality. We may not have seen you in the flesh, but we have all held you in our hearts, and we still do - with much love! Alexis Day Hamlin - your first grandchild

Officer Day was my grandfather. I know his death changed the dynamics of our family. My Dad was only 11. I can't imagine what my grandmother went through raising 7 boys alone. She was a real woman of faith. Grandpa, I am so proud of you and your sacrific for the citizens of West Virginia. Your family will never forget you! Much love, Regina Day Ivey
