To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 43rd anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

I am proud to say that I am his grand-daughter, even though until I ws adult had never known anything about him. As an adult, though, I met the Cole family and they toild me about his life. I have looked for a way to say how proud I am - so I passed his legacy to my sons and I hope they will to theirs

Trooper Adrian Cole was my great-uncle. Although I'm a California Highway Patrol officer, I was born and raised in Mississippi and heard his name all my life. My mother, Adrian's niece, heard stories about him as she was growing up and must have, no doubt, felt compelled to pass his memory on to me. It is no coincidence that I now wear the uniform of a state patrol officer. I am extremely proud that he choose to serve his community, his state and his country, and I want to continue the family legacy of service that he started.

Officer Peter Slade
