No amount of time will ever completely erase the sorrow I feel never having the chance to have you in my life. That was taken away from me as a babe in arms, never to return. Your torch is still lit, Grandmother, though I chose a different path as a hospice nurse. Your strength, love and desire to protect lives on in me as I alleviate the pain and suffering of the dying. My wish is that you are as proud of me as I am of you.
