Detention Officer Flattes, a police officer, should be remembered not by how he died but by how he lived! A brave man has left to secure a safe path for the rest of us to follow. Thank you for your 4 years of commitment to law enforcement, your family, and the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office. Our country is a little less safe without you. Rest in Peace, Brother!

Rest in Peace brother, we've got it from here.
I remember when you started in Clay County and me and you got to work shift together. at the time i was just a new detention officer who somehow ended up as your FTO showing you how Clay County did things. you taught me more than I could ever have taught you. you taught me to look for the good in people even when they were the worst people on the planet. I wish i kept in contact with you more after i moved on from the agency. you were a great man to look up to.

Jackson County Sheriff's Office

I posted this ODMP notice in Keepers of Kaos today on FB. We all salute you and wish to extend our sincere condolences to all who knew you.

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.
