Officer Tran was a dedicated officer and leader in the Asian Community. His impact on how we interact and build relationships in the City of Des Moines will be long lasting. Throughout this tragedy, his strength and character was displayed each and every day as he battled to survive and recover with incredible grace. Officer Tran's family showed similar tenacity as they supported him during this long, difficult struggle. HIs son recently accepted an administrative position with the Des Moines Police Department, and we are truly blessed to keep the Tran legacy alive within the DMPD Family.
