Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Paul Martin

3446,

In my 39 years on job, I've met many cops. If I had to describe you with one word, it would have to be genuine. You never had an agenda--just a good guy wearing the same uniform on the other side of the river. Our last conversation, we talked about grandkids and retirement. I got the call that someone was down in Mercer County and we had a officers going over to cover--and then I found out and the first thing that came to mind was our last conversation.

Rest easy brother, I'll never forget you....until we meet again!

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.
