Reflections for Deputy Sheriff Tucker Blakely

For the family of Deputy Tucker Blakely, we pray:
Father in Heaven, we ask thee to bless the soul of this thy servant departed Deputy Sheriff Tucker Blakely and keep his spirit with you throughout all eternity. We believe that no one leaves this earthly place alone that you send Angels to take us by the hand and lead us on that final journey. Father we ask thy blessing on the family and loved ones who mourn his passing. Give then strength and courage. Give them comfort and peace. This we ask in thy Holy name, Amen.

Lord God of unfailing love, to those families in our beloved nation, the United States of America, who are suffering in the wake of the loss of a law enforcement family member, help us to provide support. Allow us to be their rock and fortress in a time of immense pain and uncertainty. Help us to keep them safe and nourished in their time of grief, suffering beside them as we move toward healing and reconciliation. Lord God, in Your compassionate mercy, hear my prayer. In Christ Jesus, Your beloved Son, and by His authority, I pray. Amen.

Sheriffs Deputy Blakely was my very first Officer Down call while on duty with the Knoxville Police Department. I remember it like it was yesterday. My FTO and myself were investigating a shooting when we received the call. Myself and my FTO left the scene we were investigating to get to the interstate to block exit and entrance ramps to the interstate, so the ambulance could get Deputy Blakely to the emergency room as quickly as possible. Deputy Blakely will forever hold a place in my heart, rest in peace brother. We'll hold the line from here while you go home. We got your families six. Love you brother.

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

I’m a retired KFD asst chief and over my time and service I’ve seen way too much tragedy and pain. However, this hits home because I’ve always considered KCSO a sister organization. They came when we called and we did the same. May God bless you and your family, and know that each and every service organization feels as I do.
