My thoughts and prayers go out to Sheriff Rodgers family, both blood and blue! He was a true HERO to all, and will be rewarded as such when he meets his maker. I pray his blood family has support and strength for each other as they go down this long winding road they are now on. Just remember YOU ARE NOT ALONE, there are many others who have traveled that road before you and are more than willing to help you on your way. And remember that he is not alone, so many others have gone before him and have welcomed him as he made his journey to his forever home.

My deepest condolences to the Rodgers family and the Wilcox County Sheriff's Office. Robert was a very nice person and a great co-worker. I worked with Robert for many years when he was a deputy, and I was the supervisor at the 911-Center in Twiggs County. He worked with the volunteer Fire & Rescue Dept in Twiggs County before becoming a deputy and the citizens loved and appreciated him. He was a dedicated, honest, and trustworthy person that will truly be missed.
