Lord God of unfailing love, to those families in our beloved nation, the United States of America, who are suffering in the wake of the loss of a law enforcement family member, help us to provide support. Allow us to be their rock and fortress in a time of immense pain and uncertainty. Help us to keep them safe and nourished in their time of grief, suffering beside them as we move toward healing and reconciliation. Lord God, in Your compassionate mercy, hear my prayer. In Christ Jesus, Your beloved Son, and by His authority, I pray. Amen.

Deputy Martinez,

They finally charged the pos yesterday that gravely injured you and your classmates on your morning PT run. You fought for your life laying in a hospital bed for months but God ended up calling you home. Such a tragic situation for everyone involved on that fateful morning.

Rip and condolences to your family and loved ones, the Sheriffs Department and the community.

The true measure of a person
is not found in the
might of their arm,
their wealth
or their power –
it is found in the strength
of their character.

There is no greater testimony to
ones character, than ones
willingness to sacrifice all,
in the noble quest of
providing protection to all
whom they serve.

Dear Deputy Martinez,

Rest in peace sir, though your tour was not long, and you were killed in a senseless tragedy, you will never be forgotten. Not since the day the accident happened till the day you passed on has anyone forgot about you or your classmates.

You fought the hardest fight anyone could fight and it was for your life. Though you are gone, you will never be just a memory. You are a hero to your country and to those your partners you served with in the academy, I hope you know thousands of brothers and sisters love you, and the community honors you and your family. Your sacrifice was not for nothing. Your life means something.

I never knew you, never met you, never knew your name until just recently. But you are my brother, and for that I will honor my brother. We will take it from here, continue on and serve the citizens of Los Angeles County proudly. Rest Easy and Rest in Paradise.

On behalf of the Klamath County Sheriff's Office in Klamath Falls Oregon, we send our sincerest sympathy in the recent loss of your Deputy, Alejandro Martinez, from complications while on a morning run with 75 other recruits at the Academy 464 on November 16, 2022 after a vehicle had crossed over the highway and struck Deputy Martinez and 25 recruits. It is always a huge loss when a fellow Deputy succumbs from injuries due to being struck by a vehicle. His bravery and courage to protect and serve your community has not gone unnoticed. Our prayers and thoughts to the 13 recruits that were struck by the vehicle for a safe and healthy career in Law Enforcement and to the 12 recruits that had critical injuries, a safe and healthy future outside of Law Enforcement. We thank Deputy Martinez for his service as a United States Army Veteran.
