The Baton Rouge City Court Probation Division wish to offer our sincerest condolences to the families, friends and colleagues of Corporal Scotty Canezaro who was killed in a helicopter crash in a field off North Winterville Road, near U.S. 190 at Erwinville, at about 2:26 pm. He and his fellow officers paid the ultimate price while simply performing their duty. Our hearts go out to you all.

It is at times such as these law-enforcement both serving and retired are reminded of the dangers of the job. Our prayer is to encourage and bring uplift to the families, men and women who serve as Baton Rouge Police Officers and the city at-large. With Honor He Served!

On behalf of the 68 dedicated volunteers associated with POINT 27 across the United States, we would like to offer condolences for Corporal Scotty Canezaro. Please know we are eternally grateful for Scotty’s service and his ultimate sacrifice.

To honor Corporal Canezaro, POINT 27 sent 27 Thin Blue Line Dog Tag Necklaces, engraved with “Blessed are the Peacemakers for they will be called children of God” Matthew 5:9, to the Baton Rouge Police Department in Baton Rouge, Louisiana for Scotty’s partner and fellow officers. POINT 27 also sent a Folded Flag Necklace engraved with “Greater Love has no one than this; than to lay down one’s life for one’s friend” John 15:13 for Corporal Scotty Canezaro’s family.

POINT 27 is a Non-Profit organization with a mission to strengthen and encourage members of the Armed Forces, First Responders, and their families, by sharing scripture on Dog Tags and Jewelry called Shields of Strength.

We will never forget and we are forever grateful.
