God rest your soul, Patrolman Barlow. May your family, friends, colleagues, and community find the strength and resolve to carry on in your physical absence and continue to spread the goodness to which you were so selflessly committed. You were the best humanity has to offer. Your dedication to service and your ultimate sacrifice shall not be forgotten.

I didn’t ever get the honor of getting to know you, but I learned what kind of person you were through your sister. She had the best stories about you and was always so proud of you. You will always be her baby brother and she loves you more than words can describe.. and my heart is so broken for her. The pain I have for our cities, departments, and your family for losing you in such a tragic way will be carried with me. You and Captain Parker will never be forgotten. My heart is truly shattered for McAlester Police; for everyone has lost two amazing Officers.

Heavenly Father, I pray for the families of all America’s Peace Officers who have been killed in the Line-of-Duty and I thank you for their sacrifices. Bless the lives of their families so they might find healing. Help their law enforcement departments and agencies support their families. Even though their deaths might have been senseless, make something good come out of these situations so that their departments, agencies and communities, counties, states or nation, the United States of America, in which they lived and worked, might be stronger because of their lives and their deaths. In Christ Jesus’ mighty and holy name, I pray. Amen.

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons [children] of God.” [Matthew 5:9 ESV]

“And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?” Then I said, “Here am I! Send me.” [Isaiah 6:8 ESV]
